Schaalmodellen
We manufacture scale models of both sail and power yachts. Hulls as wel as ‘the whole ship’. In any scale, size, material, detailing and finishing. A great item for at home or in your office! Please contact us for details.
Wij vervaardigen schaalmodellen van alle soorten zeiljachten, motorjachten, beroepsvaartuigen.
De volgende mogelijkheden zijn er:
- Rompmodel
- Schaalmodel
Rompmodellen worden als halfmodel (Stuurboord of bakboord) of als volmodel gemaakt. Op basis van een analoge tekening wordt een autocad bestand gemaakt (een digitale tekening).
Hierna wordt het schaalmodel gefreesd uit te kiezen materiaal:
- hout (mahonie, teak, eiken, essen etc. naar keuze)
- mdf (indien het van een ‘kleurlak’ wordt voorzien)
- schuim (voor studie-doeleinden of overige tests)
- tooling block (voor sleeptankproeven etc.)
Elke schaalgrootte is mogelijk evenals de afwerking: gelakt in transparante lak, in elke kleurlak, met of zonder waterlijn etc.
Voor decoratieve doeleinden kunnen wij de schaalmodellen ook van een achtergrond voorzien (elke kleur, elk materiaal, ook in glas voor moderne interieurs) en indien gewenst inlijsten in onze eigen Lijstenmakerij.
Zo ontstaat een prachtig ‘cadeau’ voor uzelf of voor de ontvanger.
Wij vervaardigen constant verschillende modellen; er zijn dus altijd voorbeelden op verschillende schaalgrootte te zien. Van klein (30 cm) tot groot (anderhalve meter).

Finishing (colours) custom.
CNC Milled model of a racing sailing yacht. Most designers (and some clients) insist on having a scale model before 'production go' is given.
Although computers can give you a good 3-D image it is only on a PC screen. I experienced a meeting in which 'a wrong design line' was determined... It would have cost a fortune to change this on a one to one model.
Here 3 starboard half models are seen of a Koopmans designed Victoire 1270.

And another nice example we created: Dragon scale models.
To show the perfection of the dragon lines we used birch plywood. When CNC milled the 'lines' of the yacht can be clearly determined. Even the rudder (!) is seen exactly in the right size and shape. Thanks to the super precise digital technology!
Absolutely wonderful.
And 'her big sister.... Ed Kastelein recreated Schooner Atlantic. Ed ordered 'a number' of both half and full models
of his wonderful and unforgettable ship. I had the opporunity to visit this incredible masterpiece during construction.
She is absolutely stunning, even as a scale model of some one and a half metres. These few pictures show you some
stages of the model making.

to enjoy how the model 'emerges' from the wood by means of a high tech CNC milling machine!

commissioned by the designers and owners.
